Our 5km walk Steps for Dementia is fast approaching – have you registered to join us yet?

You might think there is nothing that can be done to prevent dementia but research suggests that there are 10 known risk factors we can modify to influence the health of our brain, preventing, delaying or even deferring the onset of dementia by up to five years.

You can do this and support a great cause during Brain Awareness Month this March.
Help us raise the $144,000 we need to continue providing our regular Living Well Groups for people living with dementia across Auckland – walking, art therapy, singing, dance, gym and much more. These groups are priceless to their members, helping them find joy, triumph, and friendship, boosting their moods, their wellbeing and quality of life.

Dementia Auckland’s Living Well Groups receive no government funding and COVID-19 has seriously affected our fundraising efforts.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Sign up for the walk or choose a Brain Boosting Challenge, register yourself, a team or your workplace and fundraise with the support of family, friends and colleagues; or
  2. Donate directly through our fundraising page. Just $25 helps a person living with dementia to attend one Living Well Groups

What could you give up or start doing to boost your brain health and support a person living with dementia?

Please, help us reach our target of $144K so we can keep delivering our Living Well Groups – every cent counts!
